The EPRO MMS6350 is a digital overspeed protection system(DOPS)module designed to accurately measure the speed of rotating machinery and provide protection against overspeed conditions to prevent equipment damage and personnel safety.It is widely used in key industrial fields such as power,petrochemical,and manufacturing,especially for monitoring and protecting high-speed rotating equipment such as turbines,compressors,and generators.

Main functions and features

Three-channel measurement system:The MMS6350 uses a microcontroller-based three-channel measurement system with a consistent three-channel design from signal detection to signal processing to the evaluation of the measured speed.This provides the highest safety for the monitored machine,especially in terms of safety-related overspeed limits,which are usually processed through 2-out-of-3(2oo3)logic,ensuring high reliability and fail-safety.

High safety level:

SIL3 certified:Some models,such as DOPS and DOPS AS,are SIL3 certified(according to DIN EN 61508),indicating that they meet the highest functional safety level and are suitable for critical safety applications.

Password protection:Each monitor is password protected,which increases the security of the system.

Multi-limit alarm:Each channel can be configured with up to 6 limits,which can be set according to different operating modes.These limits can be used for overspeed alarm or tripping,and are usually provided in the form of potential-free relay contacts or short-circuit protected+24V voltage output.

Flexible current output:Each channel provides two current outputs(e.g.0/4-20mA)with zoom and dual current functions,one of which is usually electrically isolated.These outputs can be used to transmit speed signals to DCS,PLC or other monitoring systems.

Mutual and self-checking:

Pulse and output signal mutual check:Pulse and output signals are checked and monitored between channels to ensure data consistency.

Extended fault detection:The system includes extended fault detection functions,which continuously check whether the three speed sensors are operating within the allowable range.If the internal fault detection circuit finds an error,it will be indicated by the output contacts and a plain text message will be displayed on the display to facilitate fault diagnosis.
