Overspeed Protection:Designed to safely shut down steam,gas,and water turbines of various sizes upon detecting an overspeed or excessive acceleration event.It accurately monitors turbine rotor speed and acceleration using an active or passive magnetic pickup(MPU)and issues a shutdown command to the turbine’s trip valve or corresponding tripping system.
Redundant Design:The Protech-GII consists of three independent modules.Depending on the model used,the trip outputs are either independent or in a two-out-of-three voting configuration.An isolated bus architecture shares all input and latch status information between the three modules.Flexible Configuration:Each Protech-GII module can be configured to use only its detected”local”input signal or to use the voting result of three module signals for event latching decision logic.Furthermore,module trip and alarm latching status can be configured to be shared with all other modules.
Multiple Function Integration:The unit includes overspeed and overacceleration functions,as well as time-stamped alarm and trip logs.All logs indicate whether the test was active when the event occurred,and the trip log provides a first-out indication.
Test Functionality:The Protech-GII provides a variety of predefined test routines,including automated periodic test routines,to help users verify system operation.
